Sound of Silence

from $50.00

Patea/Doubtful Sound, New Zealand
2025

New Zealand's South Island is home to some of the most breathtaking scenery on the entire planet. Nestled way down south in Fiordland National Park, Doubtful Sound rivals it all. After a sunny day on Milford Sound, we boarded our ship to Doubtful Sound hoping for one thing – rain. Months of dry summer weather meant that the region's dramatic waterfalls had all but dried up. As the clouds rolled in, we got what we wished for and more, with a torrential downpour drenching the sound in two months' worth of rain in one day. We braved the tender, wrapping our cameras in plastic bags to take photos of the misty green landscape, getting soaked through to the bone. Once warm and dry inside the boat, we watched bottlenose dolphins leaping out of the water and woke at sunrise to marvel at the cascading waterfalls that had appeared with the rain.

Printed on Canson Platine Fibre Rag (310gsm) fine art paper.

Print is sold unframed. All international prints are carefully rolled in protective tubes for safe delivery. Local prints will be shipped flat with rigid backing or rolled, depending on size.
