Ishigaki is one of Japan's hidden treasures, located 400km southwest of Okinawa's main island. It's a hotspot for diving and snorkelling – particularly during manta ray season in summer. It's also easy to explore with a hire car, with a ring road taking you to all the best beaches, viewpoints and lighthouses. I ended my week enjoying this gorgeous sunset on the beach and a local music festival.
