Taken on a misty morning in the Dandenong Ranges, a lone white flower caught my eye amongst the towering Mountain Ash trees silhouetted in the grey morning light. Mist and rain always bring out the best of this unique pocket of tranquil rainforest, which feels a million worlds away from the busy Melbourne CBD.

2024
This wombat joey was actually the first wombat I spotted in the wild – and he couldn't have been any cuter. On our first night in Wilsons Prom, we were eager to see the famous Tidal River wombats emerge after sunset. This little guy wandered straight up to the back deck behind our cabin and entertained us during our whole stay, zooming around the grass, emerging in and out of the burrow, and jumping on his mother's back.

2026
Sunrise is my favourite time of day at Tidal River. The best place to catch it is on the footbridge, watching the sun turn Mount Oberon a deep shade of orange, reflected among the gumtrees in the calm water of the river.
